Draycott and Surrounding Area

The village of Draycott is to be found approximately 2 miles East of Cheddar and 6 miles West of Wells on the A371.

The village shop/post office is within easy walking distance ofThe Dairy and sells most items including daily papers. The Red Lion and Strawberry Special public houses are also within easy walking distance.

The next village of Rodney Stoke is also the home of an excellent gastro pub The Inn at Rodney Stoke. Well worth the short drive, but book in advance to avoid disappointment. A little further along the A371 towards Wells is the village of Westbury Sub Mendip and where you will find The Westbury Inn which houses The Railway’s Restaurant, another excellent place to eat with special nights during the week, but check the board outside for the current offerings.

Cheddar Gorge with its caves and walks is only 2 miles away and for the energetic can be reached from The Dairy by following the West Mendip Way over the top of the Mendips. This can be accessed by following The Batch which is adjacent to The Dairy.

Wells with its cathedral is well worth a visit as is the Clarke’s Shopping Village at Street which is approximately 8 miles to the South West.

Bristol, Bath and Weston Super-Mare are all within 15 miles of The Dairy and are all well worth a visit..
